Offering Expanded In-home Services for the Elderly

Councilwoman Berland passed legislation to receive funding from Suffolk County for the EISEP Housekeeper/Chore and Caregiver Program.

Providing Residential Repairs to Huntington’s Elderly
Councilwoman Berland continuously sponsors legislation to offer the “Residential Repair Program” Huntington’s elderly, which provides minor household repairs for seniors who are not able to manage such repairs themselves.

Bringing Our Seniors into the Digital Age
Councilwoman Berland works to secure grants for Family Service League-based “SeniorNet,” an organization that teaches over 4,000 Huntington-area residents aged 50+ computer skills. 

Upgrading the Senior Day Care Program
Councilwoman Berland pushed tirelessly for upgrades at the Town of Huntington Senior Day Care program, which has since been transformed into a safer, larger and more functional environment that can accommodate about 25 participants daily.
