Reducing Harmful Skin Exposure
Councilwoman Berland partnered with the Melanoma Foundation of New England, now known as IMPACT Melanoma, to sponsor the Town of Huntington’s first free sunscreen pilot program at Crab Meadow Beach. The “Practice Safe Skin” program provides free organic SPF 30 sunscreen to beachgoers in order to promote sun safety, minimize their exposure to harmful UV rays and protect them from the dangers of the sun. Councilwoman Berland is working on expanding this innovative pilot program by installing the dispensers at 14 additional locations in the Town.

Councilwoman Berland urged residents to protect their skin during a special presentation at Town Hall with the Office of NYS Attorney General Eric T.
